Featured in »Copenhagen Food« Magazine

Remember I told you of that illustration job I got a while ago? :-)
The November/December issue of super-wonderful new food and lifestyle magazine Copenhagen Food is on stands, and I have work featured in this second issue. I feel so grateful.

The magazine's website
is also really great (in Danish), feast your eyes on the absolutely gorgeous photos please, created by awesome stylist Christine Rudolph and photographer Ditte Isager. I am in awe of their work!

This week, I finished illustrations for the January/February issue :-)

List it Tuesday

Aimee at Artsyville has a great project rolled out; List it Tuesday, and here's my contribution (year, all right, I know it's Wednesday, but what you can't make today - make tomorrow :-)

Andrea linked to her friend Svatana who shared pictures from a wine cellar. I could almost hear them speak. Softly, with dusty voices from times passed.

Say Aum

This week and the following seven, I'm attending a once-a-week yoga/mindfulness class. I'm looking so much forward to it.
I have a yoga mat, but no travel gear, so this Saturday I sewed a bag for my yoga mat. It also has room for a thin blanket. I came up with the »notice the lotus« trademark earlier this year, and I want to make a nametag for my new bag with it. I made a few other »notice the lotus« items and have a ton of ideas for more :-)

Calm and beauty: Jim Denevan draws on sand, earth and ice. I find these photos and his work mindblowing.

Brand new issue of Sweet Paul out now. So much yumminess. I'm a huge fan of his cozy, simmer-food pages like this soup, and this knitted winter is also right down my alley. Mnnnnn :-)

stay warm and take care :)

Work: The Happiness Project

Here's the cover I did for the Danish edition of Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project.
The publisher wanted the original idea, but customized for Danish audience, so I went out and photographed Danish houses and did additional drawings for the front and back side, as well as hand drawing the typography which were to look like the original.

(A while ago I posted the drawing:)

I really like the book - find it very inspiring, and Rubin has a wonderful down-to-earth, personal-but-not-private tone which is great company. Book hereby recommended :-)

My Brand New Pin Board :)

Man! I feel lucky. A few days ago, I got an invitation from Pinterest, and I've been the Happiest Pinner ever, since.

Feel free to check out my Pinterest inspiration boards at Pinterest.com/christinespins

Let me tell 'ya – here I was, thinking the Internet was too cool to be true as it was – no way it could get any better, and it went ahead and did! I mean – all the cool stuff I see when blogging and browsing, and drool over, wanting to keep forever stuck to (yet to come-)photographic memory – now on my virtual pin board! Plus I get to see other people's favourites. And their favourites. (Can hardly breathe). If in doubt, let me emphasize. I LOOOOVE Pinterest!

And once again, to all you creative talents out there: Thanks for sharing all your beautiful wonders!

From me (and Lark) to You:

I made these backgrounds for collaging, and Lark, who published our book, has been so kind as to put them on their website for
free download
along with a contest to win Scraps - A Field Guide to Collage or their new book on collage: Masters: Collage

Please go here to read about the giveaway and contest, or go here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, to go straight to the background freebies :-)

If you like them, and find use for them, I'd love to see what you make (but only if you feel like it of course ;-)

New York City #7

Another store visit I was thrilled about was Purl Soho. This I had been looking much forward to, and it was everything and more.

I actually found myself being giddy-nervous going in there, all fluttering when adressing the sweet people behind the counter: »issit okay if I take some pictures?? I'm a huuuge fan!« :-)) Couldn't help laughing at self. I guess some fiddle over meeting — I dunno — Brad Pitt! Me? Yarn! Just gets me every time!

New York City #5

On a lovely visit to The Ink Pad, I met these two sweet ladies, and their huuuge collection of stamps. They actually carried Scraps :-) which made me so happy. Did I buy something there ???? Why of course. Who am I to contradict nature?! I got a delicious carving block (been on my wish list for ages - can't get them i Denmark), and three beautiful little stamps who now live in my drawer with all their brothers and sisters ;-)
